BWBT History:

BWBT was formed in 1996.
Local mountain bikers,
hikers, motorcyclists
, and
equestrians joined forces in
response to a threat of trail closures

in our area.  We raised funds that
summer to hire a 3-person forest
service
work crew to
perform 16 weeks of trail
maintenance.  We also got actively
involved in the hands-on maintenance
of trails.  Our efforts helped to avert
trail closures and they set a tone
for the type of work BWBT would do
.

Today, we are a trail user coalition that
works to make our area dirt trails the
best that they can be for all user groups.
We promote a stewardship ethic and
courtesy to all
while encouraging everyone to take personal
responsibility for the trails.

Each year we lead hundreds of volunteers
into the field.  In our 12 years of
existence BWBT volunteers have
contributed thousands of hours
of labor to local trail projects.

Our trails are important to us - to
our happiness, our health, and to
our local economy.  We work to
protect and improve this
incredible resource.
