Breathing While Black & Trans (BWBT) is a multidisciplinary arts and media organization that amplifies social justice movements through a distinctly Black trans lens. We use fashion, film, and photography to illuminate the intersections of gender justice, climate justice, and racial equity, especially as they relate to housing and displacement in South Florida. Through creative storytelling and direct action, BWBT transforms visibility into power, helping shape a future where Black trans lives are celebrated, protected, and free.
 
Mission:
BWBT mission exists to amplify the power, visibility, and liberation of Black transgender communities through art, media, and direct action. We use fashion, film, and photography to expose and challenge the intersecting injustices of racism, transphobia, and climate-driven displacement in South Florida. 
 
Vision: 
We envision a world where Black trans narratives shape culture, influence policy, and drive community-led solutions, where every Black trans person has the safety, housing, and freedom to thrive. BWBT imagines a future where art is not only a reflection of our power, but a catalyst that transforms social justice movements across the globe.
